Limited Edition View “Warrior” Mug to Benefit Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, plus additional plans for Breast Cancer Awareness Month
For the first time, ABC’s “The View” and Ford will partner in October to honor heroic warriors in the fight against breast cancer with a “Warrior of the Week” program.
In early September, as “The View” begins its 10th season on ABC, the co-hosts will call out to “warriors” during a “Hot Topics” discussion to share their personal stories of support and commitment in the fight against breast cancer on-air. Viewers will be asked to submit their stories of the breast cancer warrior in their lives – whether themselves or a loved one- through “The View” web site at abc.com (keyword: theview). A warrior will be selected weekly during the month of October to appear on the show.
The Warriors in Pink – Powered by Ford initiative raises funds for the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation through the sale of specially designed clothing and accessories for men, women and children on fordcares.com. Ford has supported the Komen Foundation for 12 years and has dedicated more than $87 million in gifts and in-kind donations.
Ford will provide branded merchandise from the Warrior collection, including a limited edition Warrior scarf, for in-studio audience giveaways throughout October.
Beginning October 2, viewers will also have the opportunity to purchase a limited-edition “The View”/Warrior coffee mug featuring “The View” logo and a pink ribbon embossed on the front and the Ford “Warriors in Pink” and ABC logos on the reverse side. 100% of the net proceeds of the $25 mug will be donated to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation. The co-hosts will use the mugs throughout October to remind the audience of the importance of breast cancer awareness and early detection. For more information and to purchase mugs, please visit “The View” web site at abc.com (keyword: theview).

And, along with Dr. Debra Axelrod, Rosie O’Donnell co-authored Bosom Buddies, Lessons and Laughter on Breast Health and Cancer.” In March, 1999, the Roseann O’Donnell Boutique, named in honor of O’Donnell’s mother, opened its doors to assist individuals with cancer and enhance their appearance during therapy and recovery. The Roseann O’Donnell Boutique is a service of the Continuum Cancer Centers of New York and is located at Beth Israel Medical Center’s Phillips Ambulatory Care Center.
