Ford Warriors in Pink and Lifetime are joining together to create a special experience for viewers, creating a custom storyline for season two of “Army Wives” that will air on July 13, 2008 10 p.m. ET/9 p.m. CT.
Cast members including Kim Delaney, Catherine Bell, Sally Pressman, Bridget Brannagh, Wendy Davis, Sterling Brown, Drew Fuller and Brian McNamara will help support Ford’s fight by gearing up in special, limited edition “Army Wives”–inspired Warriors in Pink apparel during the July 13 episode.
The episode also features the character of Betty, played by Patricia French, cruising cross-country in a 2009 Ford Mustang with Warriors in Pink package. Betty was diagnosed last season with breast cancer and decides she needs to change her life by driving her new Ford Mustang to California.
But the Warriors in Pink/Army Wives relationship doesn’t stop there. The cast will wear the apparel in a special print, broadcast and online campaign, which will be featured in various entertainment and lifestyle publications. The limited edition apparel will be available for purchase exclusively through Fordcares.com and 100 percent of the net proceeds will be donated to Susan G. Komen for the Cure.
This unique initiative jumps from storyline to real life to underscore the importance of breast cancer awareness and show recognition and support for those Warriors in Pink who touch our lives. Ford and Lifetime will seek out real army wives who have made a significant difference in their community. A Dream Fulfillment vignette will air this November during a special “Army Wives” episode to recognize one real life army wife as a special Warrior in Pink. The real life Warrior in Pink will be honored for her achievements during the episode by receiving a highly coveted 2009 Mustang with Warriors in Pink package. This special Mustang can be purchased through Ford Dealers nation-wide. Reinforcing Ford’s commitment to the cause, $500 per vehicle package sold goes directly to Susan G. Komen for the Cure.
The Lifetime partnership was such a natural fit for the Ford Warriors in Pink campaign,” said Connie Fontaine, Ford Motor Company experiential marketing manager. “Its entertainment platform provides a unique opportunity to share the Warriors in Pink battle cry against breast cancer and further encourage personal strength, growth and commitment among viewers.”
