JENNIFER CAVANAGH DID THE RIGHT THING AT THE RIGHT TIME

Jennifer Cavanagh entered the online Ford One-of-a-Kind Warriors in Pink Mustang Sweepstakes at fordcares.com while searching for information about breast cancer after her good friend was diagnosed with the disease. That search provided an unexpected stroke of fortune.

“I got a phone call and thought they were trying to sell me a magazine…then the light bulb went off and I was speechless at first!” said Cavanagh. “I was in the vegetable aisle at the grocery store and I yelled, ‘I won a Mustang!’”

And not just any Mustang. On March 28 at Jordan Ford, she took delivery of the eye-catching 2008 Ford Mustang convertible featuring custom pink rally stripes over black paint, a custom black leather with pink stitching interior and the Warriors in Pink logo hand-painted on the back. Galpin Auto Sports, home of MTV’s Pimp My Ride, created the Mustang.

In 2007, Ford revved up the Warriors in Pink campaign by producing a limited- edition 2008 Mustang with Warriors in Pink package, with $250 from the sale of each benefiting Susan G. Komen for the Cure. Consumers may order the vehicle through their local Ford dealer. A redesigned 2009 Warriors in Pink Mustang will launch mid-summer. More than half a million dollars from Mustang with Warriors in Pink package sales will be donated directly to Komen for the Cure.

“Ford takes great pride in being a responsible corporate player with Susan G. Komen for the Cure,” said Connie Fontaine, Multicultural and Experiential Marketing Manager for Ford Division. “The One-of-a-Kind Warriors in Pink Mustang Sweepstakes was a fun extension of a long-term relationship that has resulted in Ford dedicating more than $95 million to the cause.”

The Ford Warriors in Pink campaign is an extension of the company’s 14-year relationship with Susan G. Komen for the Cure, and was established to recognize the strength and courage it takes to deal with the everyday challenges of fighting breast cancer.
