Ford Fusion Takes a 2009 Consumers’ Top Rated Award

The results of Edmunds.com’s annual Consumers' Top Rated Awards are in. And the Ford Fusion has captured the top honor in the Sedan Between $15,000 and $25,000 category. The primary reasons: its solid performance, comfort, and cutting-edge sound system.

Edmunds.com's 2009 Consumers' Top Rated vehicles are those that received the highest average ratings from website visitors as of April 30, 2009.

Edmunds.com Consumer Ratings and Reviews invites owners to submit reviews of their recently purchased vehicles, as well as satisfaction ratings in eight important categories. The results are tallied from these ratings and reviews to determine which cars and trucks top the consumers' satisfaction list.

Nearly all consumers remarked on how much fun to drive the Fusion is (offered with both four- and six-cylinder engines) while also praising the interior roominess, steering-wheel-mounted controls, ambient lighting, well-insulated cabin and comfortable seats. One young consumer who bought the Fusion as his first-ever car cited the Ford SYNC® System as “the coolest feature ever.” Also mentioned were the moonroof, the appealing instrument panel layout, and responsive acceleration.

No doubt about it, enthusiasm is very high for this solid domestic entry into the ultra-competitive midsize sedan market.
