The available class-exclusive* BLIS™ (Blind Spot Information System) with Cross Traffic Alert is yet another new innovation available on the 2010 Ford Fusion. Using two multiple-beam radar modules positioned in the rear quarter panels, the system’s radar detects moving objects within an area on either side of the vehicle extending rearward from the outside mirror to approximately 10 feet beyond the bumper. With BLIS™ (Blind Spot Information System), the radar identifies a vehicle entering the defined blind spot zone and illuminates an indicator LED light on the corresponding side view mirror when you’re signaling. The Cross Traffic Alert feature provides an audible warning, as well as an indicator light in the corresponding sideview mirror, that a vehicle is crossing while you’re backing out of a parking spot or your driveway.
